Greetings

I can't believe I'm going to join the blogosphere, but I guess it's time.

I've named this blog for my license plate holder on my VW Jetta: "I'd rather be driving to Yosemite." I live in the Central Valley of California and sometimes feel very "stuck" in small town environs, so if I can remember that I can be in Yosemite's Valley in just 2 hours from my door, I can remember to be grateful for where I live.

I can't promise that I'll have anything to post that is worthy of your time to read... this is just a great place for me to develop and write about my observations about life as a single part-time mother, full-time employee, and PhD student.
